报告摘要:I will talk about recent advances in the standard model effectivefield theory. Regarding the standard model as an effective field theory, thelow energy effects from high-scale physics are incorporated into a tower ofhigher dimensional operators. I first review the literature before our work,and then focus on three aspects: (1) The complete and independent set ofdimension-seven operators and renormalization of a subset of them; (2) A powercounting rule for renormalization of operators with the same dimension; (3) Thecomplete and independent sets of dimension-six and -seven operators when lightsterile neutrinos are introduced into the standard model. Some phenomenologywill also be briefly discussed.

报告人简介:南开大学教授,博士生导师,国家杰出青年基金获得者。研究方向是粒子物理唯象学,主持多项国家自然科学基金及人才项目。
