In quantum systems, it is crucial to quantitatively distinguish different states of the entire system, as well as different states of its subsystems. Quantum distance serves as a metric to accomplish this. Initially, I'll present several definitions of distance and explain why trace distance is superior to other measures. Subsequently, I'll demonstrate various applications of subsystem trace distance in conformal field theory (CFT) and spin chains, including the analysis of low-lying states, quasiparticle states and local quantum quenches, the distinction between integrable and chaotic systems, as well as the signature of equilibration and thermalization.
报告人简介:
张甲举,天津大学理学院物理系与量子交叉研究中心副教授。2009年本科毕业于山东师范大学,2014年博士毕业于北京大学,2014年至2020年先后于中国科学院高能物理研究所、意大利米兰比可卡大学、国际高等研究院(SISSA)从事博士后研究工作,2020年至今任天津大学副教授。目前主要的研究方向为引力、场论与多体系统中的量子纠缠。
