报告摘要:

A scalar degree of freedom (dubbed scalaron) can be induced from a purely geometric construction in the Einstein—Cartan (EC) gravity, similar to the case of the Starobinsky model of inflation. Contrary to general relativity, EC gravity is a special case of the general metric-affine formalism where the affine connection is a priori independent of the spacetime metric, which allows the existence of torsion. Besides the Ricci scalar, including torsion-related terms such as the Nieh-Yan term and the Holst term can induce a scalaron that can play a role in inflation and particle production in the early Universe. In this talk, I will discuss the geometric construction of inflation models in EC gravity and show the dynamics of scalaron and its coupling with matter currents.

报告人简介:

Dr. Minxi He is a senior researcher at Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in South Korea. He graduated from University of Science and Technology of China in 2015 and received his PhD at the University of Tokyo in 2021. He was a postdoc researcher at KEK in Japan from 2021 to 2023 before moving to IBS. His research mainly focuses on cosmology and high energy physics, especially inflation and reheating in the early Universe, primordial black hole, modified gravity, and astrophysical probe of particles beyond the Standard Model.
